Pharmacy technicians are vital members of the pharmacy team and increasing technician membership within CSHP has been a priority over the last few years.
There are many membership benefits to being a pharmacy technician member, including:
- Access to Pharmacy Specialty Networks – Reach out to pharmacy technicians and pharmacists in any number of the PSNs- ask questions; share your insight. Examples of PSNs include: Medication Safety, Medication Distribution, Parenteral Services, Small Hospital, and more.
- Professional Liability Insurance: Did you know? Pharmacy technician members can purchase their professional liability insurance through CSHP. This insurance meets licensing requirements in NL. Rates in 2025 – 2026 were $132.25 tax included.
- Eligibility for all Branch Awards including: Alfred G Dawe Award of Excellence, Mentorship Award, New Practitioner Award, Leadership Award

Membership Year and Fees
The membership year runs from July 1 to June 30. Applications received between November 1 and April 30 may qualify for pro-rating. Applications received between May 1 and June 30 each year will be automatically applied to the next cycle.
- 1st year Technician membership: $75 + $20 branch fee + HST
- 2nd year Technician membership: $95 + $20 branch fee + HST
- 3rd year (and beyond) Technician membership $185 + $20 branch fee + HST
- 1st year Technician student membership FREE
- 2nd year Technician student membership $35 + HST
- 3rd year (and beyond) Technician student membership $65 + HST
If you are a pharmacy technician working in NLHS Eastern Zone, you may be eligible to have your membership fees deducted from your biweekly paycheck. Contact the branch treasurer for more details.
